How to send us your mixing project

Clear preparation lets us spend the time mixing rather than rebuilding an incomplete session. Follow this guide before sending your files.

Complete preparation and delivery guide

What is mixing?

Mixing combines and adjusts vocals, drums, bass, instruments and ambience into a balanced, clear and emotionally coherent stereo experience.

Should I send raw multitracks?

We prefer consolidated WAV files or agreed stems with creative processing active. Every file must start at the same point and play correctly outside your DAW.

Should plugins remain active?

Keep any plugin that is essential to the production identity. Corrective processing that you expect us to replace may be bypassed.

What about EQ and compression?

Keep EQ or compression when it shapes the intended tone or performance. Bypass temporary corrective work if you want us to make that decision during mixing.

Should reverb, delay, panning and automation remain active?

Keep creative delay and automation. Reverb and panning may remain when they are intentional; otherwise notes give us more flexibility.

How should vocals be prepared?

Tuning, comping and editing should be complete. Raw vocal cleanup, tuning or detailed production can be quoted as an additional service.

Is a rough mix required?

Yes. It confirms the intended balance, automation, effects and playback of every exported file.

What if I send the wrong files?

Contact us immediately. Files can be replaced before work begins; replacing the complete project after mixing has started may involve an additional fee.

How many revisions are included?

The standard mixing service includes one grouped revision. Additional rounds are quoted separately.

What will I receive?

You receive a high-resolution stereo WAV ready for mastering. Tell us before the quote if you need instrumentals, acapellas or other versions.

When do I pay and how should the work be credited?

Payment terms are agreed before work begins. Credit: Libelula Audio - Alejandro Malatesta, mixing engineer.
